Who We Are

The African American Caucus stands at the front lines of a mission that is both specific and far-reaching: fighting for the African American community while building power for every marginalized and underserved group that has been left behind by the systems meant to serve them.

We work across three essential arenas — connecting local leadership to state-level decision-making, forging corporate partnerships that produce real accountability, and keeping our communities not just engaged, but equipped. At these intersections, our community's priorities don't simply enter the conversation. They shape it.

Our mission demands both focus and solidarity. We center African American issues because the weight of our community's struggles requires it — not as a limitation, but as a foundation. From that foundation, we stand with every community confronting systemic barriers, building coalitions broad enough to shift policy and deep enough to last. That is our strength. That is our charge. And it is the people we were elected to serve who hold us to it.
